The king returns to claim his throne.
According to reports Former head coach and star mid-laner of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg TSM will return to competition in the 2022 season. Close to retirement, his return could be lightning in a bottle TSM needs to correct the failures they suffered in the LCS Championship. But will he stay with TSM when he returns?
In an Upcomer report, sources say Bjergsen is considering a return in 2022 after his contract with TSM expires on November 16. When he retired at the end of 2020, Bjergsen became TSM’s head coach for the 2021 season. With him at the helm, the team finished in the top two in the spring and summer.
The kicker is however that the report says he would like to make a comeback, however no team has been specified. As a co-owner of the franchise, the likely destination of his return would be TSM FTX. But, with the franchise’s previous success, maybe he’ll bring his talents to another team that needs help.
According to the sources, Bjergsen wants to test the waters in free agency. There are a lot of teams in the LCS that could use a midlaner of his caliber. But, with the regional integration happening among players, we might just see Bjerg come out of the NA scene to test his metal against some of the toughest competitions in the world.
It’s great to see Bjergsen come back to the competitive stage. Without a doubt, he was one of the most electrifying players in the NA region. With so many historic moments cemented in his legacy, let’s already hope that there will be many more in the future in the squad he chooses to join.
